Call for Artwork

Made in 757 is an official sponsor of 757 Day. To help us celebrate Hampton Roads newest holiday, we are looking for 3 new designs to print on a range of merchandise, from tote bags, to bumper stickers, to hoodies and more. One of the three designs will be selected to be printed as a sticker and included in the official 757 Day Celebration Kit.  All three designs will be added to the official Made in 757 shop and used on various products. All credit will be given to the vendor artist, AND, the vendor will receive 50% of the revenue of any sales of the products with their design. 


What is the deadline for submissions? 
Artwork must be received by May 15th, 2021 to be considered.

Who can submit?
This Call for Artwork is open to any artist who wishes to submit their original artwork. If selected, the artist will be set up with a vendor account on Made in 757 so that they can easily receive the commission from the sales of any related merchandise. If the artist wishes to add other products to sell in their Made in 757 store, they will need to purchase a Vendor Subscription.

What kind of art can be submitted?
Your design can be created in any medium, digital or physical, but it must be uploaded as a 2-dimensional digital graphic.  The designs should be appropriate to print on a range of items, including tote bags, bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc. At a minimum, the designs should include the words “Made in 757”, but you can add other text, images, designs, colors as you like.

How many submissions can I make?
Each artist may make up to 3 submissions for consideration. 

Who owns the artwork?
The artist retains ownership of their artwork.  As with other vendor images submitted on the site, by submitting your artwork, you grant us a license to reproduce it (make a digital and physical copy of the art) and make derivative works (edit it so that it can be used on printed items such as apparel) your artwork will be used in accordance with the Terms and Conditions (please refer to the CONTRIBUTION LICENSE sectionfor all users of Made in 757. 

When will I be notified if my artwork is selected?
You will be notified by email or phone, no later than May 20th, 2021.

Submission Instructions

Please make sure your artwork meets the specs:

  • Acceptable file types: .png, .pdf, .eps, .jpg, .svg
  • Resolution: 300 DPI
  • Dimensions: artwork should fit on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper but does not need to fill the page completely, and can be any size ratio.

If you have created your design in a physical medium such as ink or paint, please make sure to take a clear, well lit, high-resolution photo of the art with no distortion (bending or folding). The art should be laid flat on a white background. If you can scan the artwork, please ensure the scan is set to at least 300dpi to ensure no loss of detail when it is reproduced.
